Supporting documentation for the preparation of a protection plan for sandy beaches 2050

Based on the project´s fundamental research results, supporting documentation for the development of a protection plan for sandy beaches of the German Baltic Sea will be prepared in cooperation with relevant authorities.  

Detailed planning documentations (Fachpläne) provide the technical and administrational basis for the tasks performed by local coastal protection authorities. Such documentation is is prepared by the authorities in charge and approved by the ministry responsible for coastal protection. Protection plans have already been developed in the following areas: Sylt / Amrum, Schleswig-Holstein as a whole, and Fischland.
Within this RADOST implementation project relevant documentation will be developed to support the establishment of protection plans for two individual focus areas of the German Baltic coast. These areas will be selected in the course of the project in coordination with project partners.
The implementation project will be carried out in close cooperation with the relevant coastal protection authorities (Staatliches Amt für Landwirtschaft und Umwelt Mittleres Mecklenburg and Landesbetrieb Küstenschutz, Nationalpark und Meeresschutz Schleswig-Holstein) and local communities.
